Welcome to Falmouth Thai Boxing...

Falmouth Thai Boxing was set up in 1993. It was the first traditional 'Thai Boxing Club' in Cornwall . The club teaches mainly Muay Thai Boxing however Kick Boxing,  Self Protection, Self Defence  and MMA (mixed martial arts) are also taught.

Ian Davies is the clubs senior instructor and has over 25 years experience . Most of this time in Muay Thai  and many under the guidance of the legendary Master Sken and the his famous Sitnarong camp.

In recent years kru Sandy Holt has played a major part in my progress and helped me immensely when I and some partners decided to open our own gym in February 2000. There are so many other people  who I would like to extend my gratitude too.

So if you would like to loose weight, get fit, just try something new, gain confidence, compete in the ring (semi contact or full contact), gradings etc.

Maybe you just want to  learn realistic self-protection/self defence?  (check out the Self Protection page on this site) either in any of the classes or personal one to one teaching.

We don't mouth off,  or give it the 'we're the best' nonsense, (you come down and judge for yourself) what you will get is high quality honest hard training to meet your needs.

If you would like any more information or advice please dont hesitate to give me a call on 07971 864630.

Have have just moved to Falmouth ?  Maybe your a new student at one of the various colleges.  If your on holiday and just looking for a place to train for a week or two. Whatever your age (14 +), Male or Female experienced or novice, you will be given a warm  friendly welcome at Falmouth Thai Boxing Club.

Class times and directions can be found in The Gym section of this site.

Well Done Guys

Two  fighters from the club made their fight debuts recently on a sell out championship show in Penzance (7/12/08).  Both Joe Kmotorka and Ryan Mann won their fights. Joe stopped his opponent in the first round with a combination of punches and kicks.  Ryan had more of a battle on his plate, Ryan landed a lot of very good knees in the clinch and a few telling low point kicks and  after three hard fought rounds he was given a unanimous decision by all judges.

On another note also congratulations to another student from Falmouth Thai boxing  Steve McClean who has recently had his first fight in Thailand and whats more stopped his opponent with a first round K.O

Private Tuition - Now Available

Private tuition is without doubt the quickest way to learn, or maybe perhaps it's you can't make it to the regular classes. It could just be that you just want to learn one to one.

The students I teach privately will readily agree that they feel its the best way to learn,  it's also very cost effective as what you will  learn in one session of intense tuition often equates to quite a few regular busy classes (where my time is often shared amongs twenty plus students).

Other benefits include that you won't pick up bad habits, the classes are shaped to what you want to learn  whether it be Thai Boxing,  Self Protection  or a mixture of both. A private class lasts about an hour and ten minutes and can either be for one student or a small group up to four. For more information please call me Ian on 07971 864630.
